Keep the water temperature at 115 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit to save energy and prevent overheating. The excessive heat cause the tank and pipes to expand and contract. Pressure expansion tanks can be added to the hot water line beside the tank to control this problem.
